Inside the Partnership
Exeger and E Ink have an exclusive partnership to develop self-charging ePaper devices, combining Exeger’s Powerfoyle solar cell technology with E Ink’s industry-leading electronic paper displays. Together, they have created reference designs for eNotes and other electronic ink products with the goal of dramatically extending battery life and reducing the overall carbon footprint of these devices. Exeger and E Ink’s shared ambition is to lead the way in light-powered e-ink displays that are both energy-efficient and environmentally responsible.
The first prototype from the partnership – a sleek, durable eNote cover featuring a seamlessly integrated Powerfoyle solar cell – was shown at Touch Taiwan in April 2023. When exposed to indoor or outdoor light, the cover significantly extends the device’s battery life, delivering unmatched convenience to users while promoting sustainability.

Looking ahead, Exeger and E Ink see a bright future in the synergy of their technologies. Both companies are committed to accelerating the transition to more sustainable consumer electronics.
“We are delighted to work with Exeger and integrate light harvesting technology into the eNote cover. By converting the power of outdoor and indoor light through Exeger’s Powerfoyle, the eNote will be powered by renewable energy, which tightly aligns with our goal of zero carbon emissions.””
