Matrix Industries

Exeger and Matrix Industries provide high efficiency, low-power solutions to a wide range of technology manufacturers.

Inside the Partnership

Matrix Industries and Exeger collaborate to bring energy-efficient, low-power solutions to a broad array of technology partners. The integration of Matrix SSB with Powerfoyle Indoor cells (optimized for indoor applications) and Matrix SSBH with Powerfoyle Hybrid (designed for a combination of outdoor and indoor light sources) enable manufacturers to create energy harvesting solutions with significant longer battery life – or even completely battery free – which streamlines maintenance operations and reduces maintenance costs.

“Powerfoyle’s innovative solar cells are an especially appealing solution for wearable and IoT devices that need to incorporate efficient photovoltaic energy harvesting with none of the downsides of traditional solar cells such as visible bus bars or unnatural appearance.”

Douglas Tham, Chief Technology Officer at Matrix

The synergy between Matrix’s high-performance boost converter modules and Powerfoyle’s energy-harvesting technology makes this partnership an ideal choice for a wide range of industrial applications for agriculture, manufacturing and building systems (including heating, cooling and lighting), along with consumer devices such as wearables and home automation products.

Through this partnership, Exeger expands its ecosystem of energy harvesting solutions, offering customers a seamless integration path and even greater flexibility when selecting boost converter technologies for IoT and connected device deployments – all while reducing the need for costly battery replacement and maintenance of IoT deployments.

“Our lineup of Single Solar Booster modules is a perfect match for Exeger’s solar cells and enables product designers to integrate Powerfoyle into products easily and at minimal added cost.”

About Matrix Industries

Based in Menlo Park, California, Matrix Industries develops energy harvesting solutions for connected devices. Its products, including Perceptive and Proximity, use low-power machine learning (Palladium) and energy harvesting technology (Prometheus) to power devices without the need for batteries or recharging.

Matrix solutions integrate seamlessly into existing platforms via APIs, enabling real-time monitoring and actionable insights for connected devices. Since its founding in 2011, Matrix has focused on battery-free sensing applications in sectors like health monitoring, security, and surveillance – where reliability, scalability, and low maintenance are critical.

To support wider use, Matrix offers Single-cell Solar Booster (SSB) standard modules as well as a high-power variant (SSBH), optimized for single cell technologies. These modules, when coupled with Powerfoyle solar cells, allow efficient energy harvesting even under low light conditions – unlocking new possibilities for sustainable, autonomous devices.
