Inside the Partnership
Exeger and Nichicon have joined forces to accelerate the global adoption of light-powered solutions in the next generation of connected consumer and industrial devices. As Nichicon’s preferred partner for light-powered solutions, Exeger provides its market-leading Powerfoyle Indoor and Powerfoyle Hybrid platforms to enhance Nichicon’s innovative SLB batteries. By harnessing Powerfoyle’s continuous charging capabilities, the collaboration delivers a more convenient and efficient solution for powering and charging devices.
The partnership combines Powerfoyle’s ability to harvest energy from all light sources – indoors and outdoors – with the exceptional charge and discharge performance of Nichicon’s SLB batteries. The synergy between Nichicon’s high-performance batteries and Powerfoyle’s energy-harvesting technology makes this partnership an ideal choice for indoor products such as sensors, electronic shelf-labels (ESLs) and trackers.
Exeger and Nichicon’s joint solution is already in commercial use, powering Elumian, the world’s first light-powered tolling transponder by Kapsch TrafficCom. Elumian represents a breakthrough in sustainability in the intelligent transportation systems industry, where the unique energy solution of Elumian reduces distribution and disposal costs compared to conventional transponders. Read more about Elumian, enabled by Exeger’s and Nichicon’s joint partnership, in our press release.

“Nichicon will leverage Powerfoyle to show that our batteries can be charged repeatedly while harvesting energy indoors, proving that both the SLB and Powerfoyle are an ideal fit for home electronics. Together, Nichicon and Exeger are paving the way for a future where sustainable and efficient power generation is seamlessly integrated into everyday devices.”
